Why I Personally Chose Merlion Global as my broker?

Choosing the right broker is one of the most critical decisions in your trading journey. A reliable broker safeguards your capital, ensures fair order execution, and fully supports your strategy and risk management.

The wrong broker can create serious issues. Withdrawals may be delayed or even rejected when you generate significant profits. In some cases, accounts may be restricted from opening new trades, and in extreme situations, they can be blocked or closed entirely.

These aren’t just rare cases many traders have shared similar experiences with unreliable brokers on various social media platforms. I’ve personally experienced this as well, along with some of my clients, which is why I take choosing a trustworthy broker very seriously.

A-Book Brokerage

An A-Book broker routes client orders to external liquidity providers (LPs) rather than keeping the full trading exposure internally, creating a more transparent trading environment.

The broker generally earns through spreads, commissions, or markups, so its business model is less directly dependent on clients losing their trades. making this model preferred by many long-term and professional traders.

Profitable traders are generally not a direct trading loss to the broker, because their trades are passed on directly liquidity providers.

However, A-Book doesn't mean perfect execution. Traders can still experience variable spreads, slippage, commissions, and wider spreads during volatile or low-liquidity markets because pricing depends on external liquidity (LPs).

That’s exactly why I chose Merlion Global

One of the key reasons is its A-Book execution model, where trading exposure is routed to external liquidity providers rather than being kept entirely in-house. Merlion Global uses Tier-1 liquidity providers as part of its A-Book execution model, which helps reduce potential conflicts of interest and gives me greater confidence in the execution of my trades.

In my 5+ years of personal experience with Merlion Global, whenever there has been a trading issue confirmed to be on the broker’s side, they have addressed it promptly. I also haven’t personally experienced a single withdrawal being withheld or restricted whether from my own accounts or those of clients I’ve worked with.

Trading goes beyond spreads and execution it’s also about trust. Knowing that your trades are handled fairly and that you’ve been able to withdraw reliably allows you to focus on what truly matters:

Strategy. Consistency. Proper risk management. 📈

A-Book vs B-Book Brokers Explained

Deep liquidity and fast execution matters, but so does the brokerage model. Understanding A-Book vs B-Book is essential for professional and more secured trading.

B-Book Brokerage

A B-Book broker may act as the counterparty to your trades, meaning your orders can be handled internally instead of being routed to external liquidity providers (LPs).

When the broker keeps the trade internally, there is a potential conflict of interest: client losses can become part of the broker’s revenue, while profitable client trades can create a cost or liability for the broker.

Profitable traders may be hedged externally, reclassified, or managed differently as part of the broker’s risk-management process.

A reputable B-Book broker can still provide fair pricing, good execution, and reliable withdrawals. However, with an unethical operator, traders may encounter red flags such as unexplained withdrawal delays, restrictions, excessive slippage, requotes, unusual spread widening, or unfair execution practices.

B-Book itself does not automatically mean a bad or dishonest broker. What matters is how the broker manages the conflict of interest and treats its clients.

The real question is: Can you trust the broker acting as your counterparty?

My Withdrawal Experience with Merlion Global

Since 2020, Merlion Global has been the broker I trusted from the very beginning of my forex trading journey, and it continues to be the broker I trust today as I grow and progress in trading through God’s guidance.

Throughout my years of experience in the trading industry, I have personally made multiple withdrawals, including large withdrawals, and I have never encountered withdrawal issues with Merlion Global.

In my experience, one of the biggest concerns traders face when they become consistently profitable and start making larger or more frequent withdrawals is whether the broker will actually release their funds. I have personally experienced situations where my withdrawal was not released, which taught me an important lesson throughout my trading journey.

As a trader, my advice is to be very careful when choosing a broker, especially when it comes to the broker's execution model. Understand whether you are trading with an A-Book or B-Book, and make sure you are comfortable with how the broker handles profitable clients and withdrawals.

For me, this is why trust, transparency, and a reliable withdrawal history are extremely important when choosing a broker.
